Field of Science

We go live

The website (http://coglanglab.org) is now up and running, along witih our first experiment, the Birth Order study (http://coglanglab.org/BirthOrder). Please stop by and fill out that survey if you have a chance.

From the experiments page I am also linking to one of my experiments back at the Visual Cognition Online Laboratory: The Time Course of Visual Short-Term Memory. I have decided to continue running that experiment for a while yet, so I'm slowly transitioning it over to the new site.

First Post

Hello World,

This is the first post of the newly-inaugerated blog for the not-quite-yet-inaugerated Web-based Cognition and Language Lab (http://coglanglab.org). That is, the website is there, but there isn't much on it yet. Within the next few days, I hope to get our first experiment up and running.

In the meantime, you may want to check out my experiments at the Visual Cognition Online Laboratory (http://vacognition.wjh.harvard.edu).

Why create a new lab when I already have one? The VCOL was something I created for the lab I was RAing at for the past academic year, the Visual Cognition Lab at Harvard, under the direction of Dr. Yuhong Jiang. That lab is moving to another university. I am staying at the same university, but I'll be starting my PhD program in a different lab, studying other topics.

In any case, I had wanted to move from our department's servers to those of a private company by the name of Serve.com/Datarealm.com. I've heard great things about them, and I'm hoping some of the server issues I've had with the old website will be solved.

I'll post again when there are experiments.
