I'm not an expert in this subject, but I still felt skepticism about the implication of the article. I think the Language Log guys have a more considered response - they quote back two years to what I guess is related research. It seems to me like researchers are reading a lot of meaning (too much?) into the actual monkey calls, but sorry if I've quoted the wrong story.
